What is Medical Assistance?
Medical Assistance (MA) is Minnesota’s Medicaid program for people with low income. Most people who have Medical Assistance get health care through health plans. You can choose a health plan from those serving MA members in your county. Members who do not get health care through a health plan get care on a fee-for-service basis, with providers billing the state directly for services they provide. What is the Elderly Waiver Program?
The Elderly Waiver (EW) Program in Minnesota is a state-funded program that provides home and community-based services to low-income elderly individuals who require care. The program aims to help seniors remain in their homes or community-based settings. We work with Medical Assistance and specifically Elderly Waiver and GRH or Group Residential Housing (also known as HSS or Housing Support Services).
